Characteristics

The Taiwan hwamei’s head, neck, throat, and chest are brown. Its calls are delicate and resonant. Apart from having persistent calls with various melodies, these birds are sometimes known to imitate calls of other bird species.
Habits: The Taiwan hwamei inhabits dense bushes, grasslands, and forest margins. These birds are stealthy and are not seen easily.
Endemic species; Resident/Uncommon; Body length: 24 cm
Birdwatching period: year round
